JSW Port Logistics Private Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of JSW Infrastructure Limited, has received a Letter of Intent (LOI) for setting up an Inland Container Depot (ICD) at Village Kudathini, Ballari District, Karnataka. Issued by the Inter-Ministerial Committee under the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs, Ministry of Finance, this LOI grants authority to handle import and export cargo. This initiative follows the company’s prior acquisitions and operational developments in the region, establishing the first ICD in the Ballari area.
The order requires JSW Port Logistics Private Limited to construct and make the ICD fully operational within one year from the date of the LOI issuance. This project builds on JSW Infrastructure’s strategy to expand its Multi-Modal Logistics Park footprint, following the acquisition of the brownfield rail siding at Kudathini in September 2025 and the commencement of interim operations in March 2026. The transaction is domestic and does not fall under related party transactions.
JSW Infrastructure Limited is India’s second-largest private commercial port operator and a key infrastructure arm of the JSW Group. The company specializes in port services, cargo handling, and integrated logistics solutions across commercial ports and terminals. In 2025, JSW Infrastructure expanded its footprint significantly by securing a Letter of Intent for the greenfield Murbe Port in Maharashtra, acquiring a majority stake in Navkar Corporation Limited to strengthen its logistics arm, and advancing a capital expenditure plan targeting 400 MTPA cargo handling capacity.
