This project is part of the Guruvarya late Laxmanraoji Inamdar Lift Irrigation scheme and involves the construction of headworks and a closed pipe distribution system for the Ner Direct Gravity main.
The specific details of the contract reveal a domestic B1 (Percentage rate) contract that is expected to be executed within a time period of 48 months. The project site is located in the Satara district of Maharashtra. Notably, the company confirmed that the awarding entity is a government corporation and that no promoters or group companies have any interest in the entity that awarded the contract, nor does the transaction fall under related party transactions.
Established in 1926 by Seth Walchand Hirachand, The Indian Hume Pipe Company Limited is a pioneer in the Indian pipe industry, maintaining a vast network of nearly 20 factories across multiple states. The company specializes in the manufacture of various types of pipes, including Reinforced Cement Concrete (RCC), Prestressed Concrete (PSC), and Bar Wrapped Steel Cylinder (BWSC) pipes, primarily serving water supply, irrigation, and sewerage sectors. In recent 2025 updates, the company made headlines for its strategic asset monetization, notably executing a sale deed for land in Azamabad, Hyderabad, for ₹173.96 Crores to ASBL Private Limited. Additionally, in March 2025, the board authorized the sale of freehold land in Bengaluru to further strengthen its financial flexibility.
For the last quarterly financial result announced (Q3 ended December 31, 2025), the company reported a significant jump in profitability despite a decline in operational revenue. Revenue from operations for the quarter stood at ₹282.06 Crores, a decrease compared to the corresponding previous year’s quarter, but net profit surged by 328.2% to ₹61.51 Crores, largely aided by exceptional gains from the Hyderabad land sale. Notable institutional investors in the company include Quant Mutual Fund via its Quant Small Cap Fund, which held approximately 1.5% stake as of recent 2025-2026 disclosures. The company continues to maintain high promoter holding, which stood at approximately 72.34% during this period.
