The Board of Directors of NCL Industries Limited held a meeting on April 13, 2026, to approve a significant strategic shift toward renewable energy. The primary outcome of the meeting was the approval for implementing a large-scale Solar and Wind Power Project in Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu. Additionally, the Board addressed regulatory compliance matters regarding a fine previously levied by the National Stock Exchange (NSE).

The approved project has a total capacity of 130 MW, which will be executed in phases. The Board specifically greenlit Phase 1, consisting of 50 MW, at an estimated cost of Rs. 392 Crores. The total investment for the entire 130 MW project is projected at Rs. 919 Crores, with a scheduled commissioning date of February 2028. Funding for this massive undertaking will be sourced through a combination of debt and internal accruals. The project is designed to meet captive power requirements while also enabling the sale of power through exchanges and third-party agreements.

NCL Industries Limited is a well-established industrial group primarily known for its flagship brand Nagarjuna Cement. Beyond cement, the company has diversified into building materials, including Bison Panel (cement bonded particle boards), ready-mix concrete, and doors. In recent 2025 updates, the company has been focused on enhancing its green footprint and optimizing operational costs. The transition toward wind and solar power in 2026 follows a year of consolidating its position in the South Indian construction market. As of late 2025, the company has also been recognized for its expanding dealer network and steady order inflows from infrastructure projects in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

For the final quarters of 2025, NCL Industries reported steady growth in its core cement segment, driven by a recovery in rural housing and government infrastructure spending. While full-year 2025 financial audits showed resilient revenue growth, the company faced some margin pressure due to fluctuating fuel costs earlier in the year. Notable investors in the company historically include veteran Indian investors who favor value-driven industrial stocks. The company continues to maintain a stable dividend-paying track record, reflecting its commitment to shareholder value despite the capital-intensive nature of its upcoming renewable energy expansion.
