Adani Power Limited has officially announced the receipt of a Letter of Award (LoA) from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co. Limited (MSEDCL). The contract involves the long-term supply of 2500 MW of Renewable Energy Round-The-Clock (RE RTC) power. This award follows the company being declared the successful bidder in a competitive electronic reverse auction process. The official notification was received by the company on the evening of April 1, 2026.

The specific terms of the agreement outline a significant commitment to the Maharashtra power grid, with a supply duration spanning 25 years. The execution period begins from the Scheduled Commencement Date of Supply as defined in the tender floated by MSEDCL. This domestic contract is a strategic win for Adani Power, and the company has confirmed that the promoter group has no interest in the awarding entity, nor does the contract fall under related party transactions.

Adani Power Limited, a key arm of the Adani Group, is India’s largest private sector thermal power producer. Throughout 2025, the company aggressively expanded its focus toward sustainable energy solutions and operational efficiency. Recent developments in 2025 included successful debt refinancing initiatives and the integration of advanced technology at its major power plants to meet tightening environmental norms. The company continues to strengthen its domestic footprint through large-scale utility contracts and strategic capacity enhancements across its various Indian facilities.

During the financial results announced in 2025, Adani Power reported robust growth driven by increased power demand and improved merchant tariffs. For the quarter ended September 30, 2025, the company showcased a significant surge in consolidated revenue compared to the same period in the previous year. Profitability remained strong due to lower fuel costs and higher plant load factors. Notable institutional investors and prominent domestic funds have maintained significant stakes in the company, reflecting confidence in its long-term power purchase agreements and transitioning energy portfolio.
