Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has announced that its FMCG arm, Reliance Consumer Products Limited (RCPL), has successfully acquired a 100% equity stake in Southern Health Foods Private Limited (SHFPL). The transaction, executed for an aggregate cash consideration of Rs. 156.42 crore, was completed on February 9, 2026, making SHFPL a wholly owned subsidiary of RCPL. This move is aimed at strengthening Reliance’s presence in the rapidly expanding health-focused and millet-based food segments.

The acquisition of Southern Health Foods, widely recognized for its flagship brand “Manna,” allows Reliance to integrate a leader in the healthy packaged foods category. Established in 2012, SHFPL specializes in a diverse range of products including millets, oats, multigrain mixes, breakfast cereals, and baby foods. Reliance plans to leverage its extensive pan-India distribution network and robust R&D capabilities to scale the Manna brand beyond its current stronghold in Southern India.

Reliance Industries continues to expand its vast business empire, which includes energy, retail, and digital services. In recent 2025 updates, the company accelerated its “New Energy” pivot by commissioning its first solar panel manufacturing line and developing a massive 550,000-acre solar project in Kutch, Gujarat. RIL also announced major partnerships, including a collaboration with Google to accelerate AI adoption in India. Furthermore, the company reported reaching a milestone of over 515 million subscribers for Jio and nearly 20,000 retail stores by late 2025.

In the third quarter of FY 2025-26, Reliance reported consolidated revenue of Rs. 2,93,829 crore, a 10% year-on-year (YoY) increase. Consolidated net profit for the quarter rose marginally to Rs. 18,645 crore, compared to Rs. 18,540 crore in the same period last year. The company’s growth was primarily driven by its O2C and Digital Services segments. Notably, the Ambani family remains the primary promoter with a 51% stake, while major institutional investors such as Morgan Stanley have previously held significant positions in acquired entities like Southern Health Foods.
