Sumeet Industries Limited has announced the outcome of its board meeting held on September 19, 2026, wherein the board approved the allotment of 84,31,195 equity shares of face value ₹2 each on a preferential basis. These shares are issued upon the conversion of Optionally Convertible Redeemable Preference Shares (OCRPS) to non-promoter allottees, including several major banking entities, at a conversion price of ₹33.21 per share (including a premium of ₹31.21), aggregating up to ₹28.00 Crores.

The preferential allotment is part of the corporate implementation framework following the company’s resolution plan approved by the NCLT. The allottees receiving these equity shares include public financial institutions such as Bank of Baroda, Central Bank of India, Canara Bank, Union Bank of India, and IDBI Bank, alongside a suspense escrow account transfer. The OCRPS were originally allotted in December 2024, and upon the completion of their tenure, they have now been converted into equity shares.

Established with a legacy of trust and innovation, Sumeet Industries Limited operates primarily within the textiles industry, focusing on the production and sale of polyester yarns and fabrics. During 2025, the company navigated through industry headwinds by focusing on operational efficiencies and cost management to stabilize its market position. Operational updates highlight continuous restructuring efforts and capital adjustments to strengthen its financial standing following resolutions under legal frameworks.

In terms of financial performance announced during recent quarters of the 2025 financial cycle, Sumeet Industries reported a stable top-line trajectory with revenues touching ₹1,003.37 Crore in specific periods alongside a robust earnings per share (EPS) of ₹49.20. Earlier quarterly metrics indicated fluctuating profitability, including net profits scaling up to ₹170 Crores for the period ending March 2025, supported by optimized operating margins and controlled expenses amidst volatile raw material pricing.
