Sterlite Technologies Limited (STL) has officially informed stock exchanges about securing a major multi-year supply contract from a domestic telecom operator to deliver optical fibre cables.
According to the regulatory notice filed under Regulation 30 of the SEBI Listing Regulations, the order has been awarded by a domestic entity and carries a broad estimated consideration of approximately INR 960 crores. The contract involves a multi-year supply agreement spanning a period of 2 years (covering FY28 and FY29), which can be further extended by another 2 years on mutual agreement. The execution entails providing optical fibre cables strictly built to customer specifications.

Institutional participation has remained a focal point, with foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) and institutional entities actively adjusting stakes as the company pivots toward high-margin AI data centre and fibre-to-the-home solutions.
