Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Limited has announced the receipt of a significant letter of empanelment and rate contract from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL). This award involves the design, manufacture, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of solar water pumping systems across Maharashtra.

The contract is part of the MTSKPY/PM-KUSUM-B scheme and encompasses 3,540 units of Off-grid DC Solar Photovoltaic Water Pumping Systems (SPWPS). The total order value is approximately Rs. 71.75 Crores, excluding GST. The project includes a complete system warranty, repair, and maintenance, and a remote monitoring system (RMS). The company is required to execute the order within 60 days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed (NTP) or work order.

Crompton is a market leader in India for fans and residential pumps, holding the position of the “World’s No. 1 Ceiling Fan Brand” as certified by Euromonitor International. In 2025, the company focused on its “platform-first approach,” launching innovative in-house platforms like Nucleus for BLDC technology and X-Tech for induction fans to enhance energy efficiency and voltage protection. Recent updates include securing aggregate orders of approximately Rs. 500 Crores and 50,000 solar rooftop units in October 2025, further solidifying its presence in the renewable energy segment.

For the last quarterly results of the 2024-25 fiscal year (Q4 FY25), Crompton reported a consolidated net profit of Rs. 171.7 Crores, representing a robust 28.7% YoY growth. Revenue from operations reached Rs. 2,060.6 Crores, marking a 5.1% YoY increase, driven largely by strong demand in solar pumps and appliances. Famous investors and major stakeholders in the company include HDFC Trustee Company Limited, which holds a 9.77% stake through the HDFC Flexi Cap Fund, alongside significant collective holdings by mutual funds (48.79%) and Foreign Institutional Investors (29.2%).
