The company has confirmed the appointment of Shri Rajesh Kumar as the Director (Finance) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective from April 2, 2026. This leadership update, made in compliance with SEBI Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements, marks a pivotal move for the Maharatna power sector financier as it continues to manage its extensive lending portfolio.

The formal intimation regarding this appointment was submitted to the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and BSE Limited. The Board’s approval solidifies the role of Shri Rajesh Kumar, who had previously assumed charge earlier in the month. The meeting, which began at 3:00 p.m. and concluded at 4:50 p.m., focused on this key managerial personnel (KMP) transition to ensure continued financial governance within the organization.

REC Limited is a premier Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) and a Maharatna company that serves as a cornerstone of India’s power sector financing. The company provides financial assistance to state electricity boards, state-owned utilities, and private power developers for projects across the entire value chain, including generation, transmission, and distribution. In 2025, REC gained further prominence by being the first Indian public sector NBFC to become ISO 31000:2018 compliant for enterprise risk management. The standalone net profit reached ₹4,043.08 Crore, maintaining a steady trajectory from ₹4,029.09 Crore in the corresponding quarter of 2024. The company continues to enjoy strong institutional backing, with the President of India as the primary promoter holding 52.63%. Notable institutional participation includes Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) at 16.46% and Mutual Funds at 9.18%, reflecting high market confidence in this state-backed financial giant.
