Vraj Iron and Steel Limited has received an official order from the Chief Electrical Inspector of the Government of Chhattisgarh, granting a significant exemption from electricity duty. This regulatory approval applies to power generated from the company’s captive Solar Photovoltaic Power Plant located at its Siltara Division. The exemption is designed to support the company’s transition toward sustainable energy and reduce overall power procurement costs.

The exemption became effective retroactively from December 17, 2025, and will remain valid for the entire operational lifespan of the solar plant for auxiliary use. While the exact financial impact depends on the quantum of power generated, the company expects this move to substantially improve operating margins and cash flows by lowering energy expenses at the Siltara Industrial Area facility. This order aligns with broader renewable energy initiatives within the Chhattisgarh industrial sector.

Vraj Iron and Steel is a key player in the iron and steel sector, primarily involved in the manufacturing of Sponge Iron, M.S. Billets, and TMT bars under the “Vraj” brand. Throughout 2025, the company focused on expanding its captive power capabilities to become more self-reliant and cost-effective. Recently, the company transitioned from a private entity to a public limited company to facilitate its growth capital requirements and enhance its market presence in Central India.

In the financial results announced during the 2025 period, the company demonstrated steady growth driven by increased production capacity at its Raipur and Bilaspur units. For the quarter ending December 2025, the company reported a consistent rise in operational revenue compared to the previous fiscal year, supported by robust demand for structural steel in infrastructure projects. The company’s shareholding pattern has seen increasing interest from institutional investors looking to capitalize on the expansion of the Indian steel industry, though it remains largely promoter-held to ensure strategic stability.
