Aurobindo Pharma Limited has officially announced the outcome of its Board Meeting held on April 6, 2026, primarily focusing on a significant share buyback proposal. The company intends to repurchase up to 54,23,728 equity shares, representing 0.93% of its total paid-up equity share capital. This strategic move is set at a buyback price of INR 1,475 per equity share, payable in cash.

The total aggregate amount for this buyback is capped at INR 800 Crores, which accounts for 3.93% and 2.62% of the company’s total paid-up equity capital and free reserves on a standalone and consolidated basis, respectively, as of March 31, 2025. The buyback will be executed through the “tender offer” route on a proportionate basis from all existing shareholders. To manage the process, the Board has established a dedicated Buyback Committee and fixed April 17, 2026, as the Record Date to determine eligible shareholders.

Aurobindo Pharma is a leading global pharmaceutical giant, manufacturing over 250 API products and maintaining a robust portfolio of 225+ product families. In 2025, the company continued its expansion in the biosimilars and specialty generics segments, bolstered by its flagship Penicillin-G facility in Kakinada. For the quarter ended December 31, 2025 (Q3 FY25-26), the company reported a consolidated revenue of INR 8,646 Crores, marking an 8.4% increase compared to INR 7,979 Crores in the same period last year. Consolidated net profit rose by 7.6% to INR 910 Crores from INR 846 Crores year-on-year.
